2018 marks 60 years since the first Ginetta was produced and celebrations for the car manufacturers 60th anniversary begun in style last week with a visit from HRH The Princess Royal.
Founded in 1958 by the four Walklett brothers, Ginetta has a long and successful history of producing hand built road and race cars. By the time it was acquired by Lawrence Tomlinson in 2005, it had gained a reputation as one of the most renowned British heritage race car brands.
To celebrate the Ginetta’s 60th birthday and to commemorate the success of the brand they welcomed HRH Princess Anne to Yorkshire for a tour of the factory on Thursday 25 January.
Lawrence Tomlinson, LNT Group and Ginetta Chairman said: “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to show HRH The Princess Royal the origins of this fabulous British marque which has fed generations of motorsport passion, created thousands of jobs over the decades and secured Britain and Yorkshire a place on the global motorsport map.
“What better a start to our 60th Anniversary celebrations, fresh from the launch of our new G60-LT-P1, than with a visit from The Princess Royal”.
